What is a fun fact about you?

I can eat a whole chocolate block in one sitting. Especially if I’m absorbed in a good movie.

What was your first job?

Checkout Operator at Woolworths (Grocery brand in Australasia)

I was quite competitive with my scan rate – while there wasn’t any competition, I still wanted to come out on top!

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever received?

KISS – Keep it short and simple.

Just a simple piece of advice given to me across my career in marketing. If it’s is too long or complex, no one will read it.

How did you end up here?

Moved over to London from Auckland to see what the fuss was all about.

For those who don’t know, it’s almost a right of passage for New Zealanders to do an OE, with most of us coming to London.

What excites you most about your job?

I’m excited to work with a variety of clients who will have unique problems or outcomes they would like to achieve.

If you weren’t working at White Marble and money wasn’t an object what would you be doing?

Travelling to places I haven’t been, cultures I haven’t experienced.

What do you think will be the biggest influencing ‘thing’ in marketing in the next 10 years?

Artificial Intelligence

This spans across many things, not just marketing and arguably it’s already here. But for marketing it will redefine how we identify and interact with customers.

What is the best book you have read recently?

Nudge – Cass Sunstein and Richard Thaler

Great book about human nature, how people behave rationally and irrationally while they make decisions.

What is the coolest place you have ever been/ What is your favourite holiday destination?

Machu Picchu, but only from afar.

This place is exactly how the travel blogs and books describe it. It’s a culturally significant piece of architecture of the world, with a mystical essence as you see it over the horizon – looking down from the Sun Gate.

Why I say from afar, is because the moment is lost as you approach Machu Picchu, crowds of day tourists start appearing and your phone is constantly pinging as it gets reception and you all your messages/emails appear from the last 3 days.

What is your favourite dessert?

Slightly salted dulce de leche ice cream that I bought in an ice cream shop in Argentina! I was frantically coughing, and I still went for a second serving.
