Meet Morgan

Morgan joined White Marble Marketing in August as a digital marketing assistant to help deliver on a variety of consultancy-based projects. Before working at White Marble, Morgan undertook a year-long placement at GAM as a digital marketing trainee on the investment 20/20 programme while also studying to achieve a CIM level 3 qualification.

What is a fun fact about you?

I used to be obsessed with superfoods. Over the years I must have spent hundreds on powders and foods that were marketed as these amazing "superfoods" that promised me the world. However, after doing a lot of research and having watched many documentaries on nutrition and health, I can now say (with some regret) that the persuasive tools of marketing, along with my naivety probably got the better of me.

What was your first job?

My first ever job which I started when I was 16 years old was at Papa Johns. While I love pizza and thoroughly enjoy cooking, I can't say that working at a pizza delivery kitchen was very enjoyable. However, despite the highly stressful working environment, I learnt many skills that I can and have applied to many of my later roles.

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever received?

Stay organised and always ask questions, despite how annoying you may think you're being.

How did you end up at WMM?

To my surprise during the midst of pandemic, one day in July Tabra, my manager, reached out to me via LinkedIn. In the message, she mentioned that White Marble were looking to fill a role in digital marketing and that a colleague whom I had previously worked with had mentioned my name. Considering the unlikeliness of being hired during a pandemic and the amazing opportunity presented to me I will be forever grateful that both my former college and my now manager reached out to me about this role.

What excites you most about your job?

While many things excite me about my role at White Marble, the main thing would definitely be the exposure to very successful clients. I also think that many days if not every day is different, with different challenges and ever changing tasks and responsibilities.

If you weren't working at White Marble and money wasn't an object what would you be doing?

Travelling the world - who wouldn't? I have always wanted to travel around Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and Australia. I hope that maybe one day I'll get the chance to.

What do you think will be the biggest influencing 'thing' in marketing in the next 10 years?

Personalisation and innovations in digital technology, not to mention artificial intelligence.

What is the best book you have read recently?

I recently read 'Women don't owe you pretty' by Florence Given and I have recommended it to absolutely everyone I have met. There are so many aspects of the book that I love - the educational content, the humour and the imagery. Definitely worth a read, especially if you are a budding feminist.

What is the coolest place you have ever been/ What is your favourite holiday destination?

While it's not my favourite holiday destination, Bristol is definitely one of the coolest places I have visited. The streets are filled with street art, quirky cafes, unique cocktails bars and vintage clothing stores. One of the quirkiest places in Bristol is Stokes Croft.

What is your favourite dessert?

Hot chocolate fudge brownie with ice cream or Tiramisu! Basically anything with chocolate.
