What’s your role at White Marble?

I decided to set up White Marble Consulting to enable clients to access integrated marketing expertise and specialist investment knowledge as and when they need it. This was a new concept in 2014, rethinking how marketing departments could complement their in-house skills.

As CEO, I spearhead the growth and vision for White Marble while also working directly with clients on their strategic marketing priorities and projects. My core area of focus is corporate and competitive positioning, from brand and sustainability strategy to proposition articulation.

What prior experience do you bring?

I have 15 years’ experience of working as part of marketing teams within asset management companies, such as Aberdeen Asset Management and Neptune Investment Management. My responsibilities have included coordinating international product campaigns, developing brand architecture and message evolution and shaping PR strategy, as well as work in website design and digital marketing integration.

What’s your favourite hobby or pastime?

There’s nothing better than walking the dog on a bright and crisp day, with my mobile phone left in the house.

What’s a fun fact about you?

I like to write and sing songs, and even had a few produced back in the day. They’re all quite folky so none have featured marketing – it turns out audience segmentation is hard to work into the lyrics!

What’s a pet peeve of yours?

A group of people walking in a row across the pavement, leaving no way to pass them without dashing into the road. It’s especially annoying if they’re going at snail’s pace.

What can’t you live without?

Andrew, who makes everything work at White Marble and does so with relentless cheer!
